ABOUT MONTOYA'S MEXICAN RESTAURANT & BAR:

Montoya’s Mexican Restaurant & Bar, a new modern Mexican dining destination, will open its doors this Cinco de Mayo, bringing together food, art, and community in a way that feels both personal and rooted in tradition.

Founded by Executive Chef Jaimie Montoya, co-owner Jaclyn Burke, a Queens-based artist, and partner Robbie Salameh, Montya’s is the result of years of hard work, passion, and a shared vision. After more than 30 years in the kitchen, Montoya is stepping into his own space to create a menu that honors his Mexican heritage while offering a fresh modern take on the flavors he’s built his career on.

The restaurant’s design and atmosphere have been shaped by Jaclyn, whose artwork is woven throughout the space. From the interiors to a hand-painted mural in the backyard, every detail reflects a commitment to culture, storytelling, and the neighborhood that inspired it. Jaclyn’s creative connection to the community extends beyond the restaurant, including seasonal window murals she has designed locally over the years.
Robbie , a longtime supporter of both the culinary and visual arts, joins the project with a deep appreciation for Montoya’s cooking and Jaclyn’s artwork—something that has connected them long before Montya’s came to life.

More than just a place to dine, Montya’s is meant to feel like home—a space where people can gather, celebrate, and connect. By bringing together thoughtfully crafted food, original art, and a strong sense of community, the team hopes to create an experience that is both meaningful and welcoming.
Montoya’s Mexican Restaurant & Bar is set to officially open on Cinco de Mayo, inviting the community to come together and be part of the beginning.
